I am Ms Larhonda Carr. My passion for helping others has been a guiding light in my life. I am currently working on my BS in Nursing. My specialty is in Behavioral Science. Trauma , recovery, and its impact in the community are my greatest interest at this phase in my nursing career. I plan to collaborate with the professionals and my mom at Habakkuk’s Journey to help remedy what has plagued North City communities for decades. I am a North St. Louis City native. My lived experience in the community makes this project special and dear to my heart. I am dedicated to making a difference. The social disparities of poverty, illiteracy, discrimination, and emasculation can be remedied. I enjoy giving back to the community. I volunteer at the Crisis Nursery, the Center for At Risk Teens and a Women’s Shelter for Abused Women in Dallas Tx. In my spare time I enjoy my family and my husband as I help to raise our boys from childhood to adolescents into strong Black men of purpose. We believe that iron sharpens iron. Habakkuk’s Journey is the “catalyst” of a Community Rising. I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the learning and healing modules in the “Journey.”
