My name is LaShonna Barrow. I am a St. Louis native and an alumni of the University of Missouri-St. Louis. As a representative in the field of social work, serving others is my calling, especially within the city I reside. My passion for quality of life has allowed me to help individuals get their basic needs met and coordinate them with social service providers to meet them where they are. I currently work in a HIV specialty pharmacy and with an organization that serves those with disabilities both physically and mentally. On a more personal note, I act as a diversion specialist for a family member with mental illness who at one point in time was on the verge of homelessness. As a result, I help to advocate for social change and the stigma surrounding mental illness, navigate engagements within the community and access to resources.
