Dr. William Leroy Munson was born and raised in St. Louis City, Missouri, but later moved to University City, Missouri. He currently resides in O’Fallon, Missouri and is the proud husband to Elder Torree Munson and father to London, Desmond, Dejah, and Ailionna.
In 1996 Dr. Munson began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department, working in various positions throughout the department. In the fall of 1999, he was selected as the School Resource Officer (SRO), having the opportunity to work with the Hazelwood and Riverview Garden School Districts. During his tenure as a SRO, Dr. Munson created the Law Related Education Curriculum, which is a program that teach the students the value of the legal and judicial system and promotes a public understanding of the law and help young people to become better informed and effective citizens. He has sponsored several student club associations in the Hazelwood School District, such as the League of Elders, PBIS, Chess Club and the United Youth Empowerment Team an anti-bullying club. In addition to his student sponsorships, he coached the Varsity and Junior Varsity Football teams at Hazelwood Central High School. He is a Certified Practitioner Instructor with National Association of School Resource Officers, teaching police officers the Basic and Advanced School Resource Officer Course Program.
